Notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci
I have always wanted to lay my hands on the Notebooks of Leanardo Da Vinci. Searching for it few years back I ended up buying Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown – it was still in hardcover edition – and not famous – and I thought it was some work on the real Da Vinci codes. Anyway no regrets – Dan Brown’s book was a great read and I enjoyed it (though I liked his Angels and Demons more than Da Vinci Code) – especially since
I knew quite well the public areas of Louvre in Paris – where I spend quite a few Sundays (entry is free on first Sunday of every month!) during my life in Paris.
Anyway the point of this post is the Notebooks of Leanardo is available online and I am going to read that soon. Thanks to Google Print – after checking it out during its launch, never had a chance
to see it in operation. So I am pleasantly surprised to see it. And again thanks to Google for reminding me of Leanardo with the great logo they have online today!
Isn’t that a great graphic, trust Google. 🙂
I keep getting frustrated by the three-page limit that Google places upon your browsing, even on books that are in public domain. I couldn’t browse through the da vinci notebooks either (I know you could use the search feature to find inside pages, but it’s too darn inconvenient).. Any ideas on how to read these public domain books?
I think in theory they allow books in public domain to be read in full and 3 pages for copyrighted books or perhaps only excerpts. This book I think is under copyright protection until 2047! As the translation was copyrighted in 1952 and then the copyright is valid I think for the next 95 years.
I read part of by searching for page number and then reading the next three pages!
