Once again in London
First week of May 2005 brought a surprise in the form of a loooong weekend and I took the opportunity to go again to London. Its perhaps the most visited city in Europe (leaving aside Paris, Montpellier, Zurich and Basel where I have lived.) But while I had walked around the city numerous times, visit to the British Museum and Tate Modern were still on my list. So while in the city for 4 days, apart from the routine walking around I went to these two places and it was amazing. The British Museum is the most visited place in London (no its not Madame Tussauds wax museum nor the National Gallery nor even the Museum of Natural History). The museum itself with the recently redone central courtyard and the library is in itself a great place to be. And unlike many other museums I found the quality of air to be much better inside – so the rate of getting tired is slightly slower. Perhaps this is by chance and not necessarily by design – because of the huge rooms for some of the big exhibits and that basically forming part of design
of the whole museum.
