Good to great

Just started reading the book – Good to Great, by Jim Collins. Pretty amazing I should add to see the amount of research that has gone into this book. And also the fact the Jim seems to say up front about not finding any silver bullets for turning from good to great! That I feel is quite a difference compared to most other books that had one proposition to sell and they used examples that fit it.

Just finished reading another book Corporate Boards that Create Value. It was the first book I am reading focussed on the roles and responsibilities of the Corporate Board and hence it was a an interesting read. But unlike Good to Great, the authors of the Corporate Boards that Create Value had their concept to sell and they used examples to substantiate their thoughts. In Good to Great the way it is moving (I have just read about a 3rd as of now) – it looks like that Jim and his research team started off with a white board and started filling it in with details as they moved on. Will fill more as I read more 🙂
